What's Included?

A beautifully handwoven Nester with a sturdy steel frame, a convenient hanging loop, and a shapable wire hook on the back to secure it onto ivy or fencing.

How to Use

Position your Nester in a sheltered, quiet area of your garden – ideally hooked over ivy or branches – and orient it between North and South East to protect it from prevailing winds and rain.

Dimensions

Most nesters measure between 17–28cm tall and 11–15cm wide

Care Instructions

While UK guidelines suggest cleaning nest boxes between September 1st and January 31st, these Artisan Nesters are designed for Autumn and Winter use. It’s best not to disturb them during the colder months. Instead, give them a shake and brush out any debris in late September or early October.

Why we love this product

I loved these nesters at first site, because I believe we need to provide a space for the birds to roost in during the colder weather, along with the springtime nest boxes most of us already put up. When I first saw these nesters, I loved that they were handmade, supporting a fairtrade project, and using recycled materials - the colours are unique and they make a big impact, but I worried they might not stand up to our wet British winters. However, when I got my hands on one for the first time I loved how substantial and sturdy they feel. They’re not just a pretty feature!

We choose our products carefully and stock no more than 25 items in our store, so every item earns its place. This ensures our range is thoughtfully curated, high quality, and genuinely useful for wildlife lovers.

Who’s eating the bird food in your garden?

We want to support all wildlife in our gardens—big, small, furry or feathered—even if it sometimes means sharing with a few bolder visitors. That said, when larger animals help themselves to your bird food, it can leave the little birds struggling for a bite to eat, which can feel frustrating. Read on for our bird feeding solutions.
