TOP TIP
In order to work, the Squirrel Buster feeder should be positioned with 18" (47cm) clearing on all sides (above, below and to the sides) to prevent squirrels from reaching across. The spring tension can be affected by extreme weather so may need adjustment.

I waited a while before commenting, at first the squirrels found all sorts of ways to hang upside down to get the nuts without triggering the closure mechanism . However they clearly got frustrated and I haven’t seen a squirrel for 3-4 weeks now. Someone else must be making it easier for them! I do have endless little birds enjoying their superior food though.

…I realise it is not called a Parakeet buster, but the weight adjustment has allowed me to initially keep Parakeets from monopolising at least one of our bird feeders, but the battle continues...

We live in West London and love seeing the small birds that visit our garden and have a range of feeders. However, we also suffer from a large population of grey squirrels which manage to get into the feeders via fair means and foul!!
I saw The Little Bird Company at Chelsea Flower Show for the first time thgis year and had a long conversation with a very helpful person and decided to buy the Squirrel Buster feeder. It was delivered about 10 days later, in perfect condition, very nicely packaged. We put the feeder up and yes, it does stop the squirrels getting the food - what a very clever design it is. However, we also suffer from Parakeets who were able tyo get in. However, my husband has now adjusted the tension to the lowest level and we think it is also Parakeet proof. We are still waiting to make sure but hopefully you will soon be able to say Squirrel and Parakeet Proof. Many thanks, Rosanna

The Squirrel buster bird feeder is the only feeder to have in my opinion- not only does it stop the squirrels pinching bird food (I don't mind feeding them separately!), it is very well made and looks nice in the garden. Fully recommend.

I love this feeder and the mischievous squirrels in my garden are frustrated not being able to get to the bird food.

Very thorough instructions for a novice bird watcher like me , the food which came with the feeder has gone but I haven’t seen any birds feeding on it when I have been at home. The bird feeder seems etc easy to maintain and clean

I actually bought this because of an issue with rats getting on the bird feeders. I haven’t seen them attempt to get on it yet so I’m going to assume they’re completely flummoxed by it!
The feeder has been great for small birds. Our local robin is usually a bit rubbish with feeders and sort of flies at them but it seems to really like this feeder. It’s also helped control the starling mob. Usually they all swarm the feeders, knocking food flying and the smaller birds can’t get a look in but when two or more starlings try to land on this one, the ports close and they give up.
Honestly well made and worth the money.
